‘Linkage and Linkage’ engages with drawing studio practice with the possibility of a cross disciplinary approach. By researching the art historical lineage of my own drawing and art making, in parallel with key interests in other disciplines, I have demonstrated how the studio acts as a 'site' for generating ideas and diagrams of linkage. The final outcomes include text, and a number of prototypes "idea drawings", which start to make cross-disciplinary bridges possible within my evolving studio practice. This is achieved by the installation of my print “labels” and drawings and on a light box. The light box is implemented to mirror the illumination created by a microscope, demonstrating how the tools of science can use light to open up new artistic landscapes, transforming biology into abstract aesthetic representations and biological drawings into a work of art. Additionally, I included a diverse range of glassware and flora reminiscent of a laboratory to explore this cross disciplinary convergence of art and science. Anthropology and the arts have played an inspirational role in the study of science, specifically in respect to novel forms of knowledge creation (Deleuze &Guattari, 2011).
